I’m so happy you found your way here. In my many years as a nurse and family nurse practitioner (and a licensed massage therapist prior to that), I’ve heard the repeated ask by countless women for a different kind of medicine.
This is my passion & calling: to contribute to the shift in how people experience healthcare by providing equitable, holistic care that supports feminine health across the lifespan.
My endeavor is to whole-heartedly partner with people in reclaiming ownership of their health, improve maternal health outcomes for BIPOC, and positively influence the health of future generations.
I trust in our body’s innate wisdom & healing capacity and believe that transformational healing is possible using root-cause medicine and whole-person wellness rooted in tradition, science, your truth & empowerment.
Considering the spectrum of your life experiences and the impact those have had on your well-being is central to my integrative approach in working with you on your health goals.
Yes, natural first: food, herbs, nutraceuticals, lifestyle modifications, and mind-body practices are the usual initial go-to. There is also a place for conventional therapies; however, I believe we can often flip this and instead of starting with prescriptions for every person, start with lifestyle and nature first.
Major shift can happen when the foundations of wellness are supported. Small, consistent changes over time add up to significant health benefits. Healing happens when we peel back the layers to uncover your truth and the underlying contributors to your symptoms & conditions, then address them holistically.
Integrative modalities, including botanicals, nutrition, and touch/energetic therapy have been in my clinician toolkit for over 20 years. I am abundantly grateful to all my teachers & mentors, Mother Nature, and Spirit for all they have and continue to teach me. I am an avid lifelong learner…
After high school, I studied Eastern & Western massage therapy and practiced for over 10 years before going back to school for nursing in NYC while pregnant with my first child.
My undergraduate and graduate degree in Nursing Science were earned at Florida International University in my hometown of Miami, FL.
I am a graduate of Aviva Romm’s Women’s Functional & Integrative Medicine Professional Training Program and am currently enrolled in her Herbal Medicine for Women course.
Additionally, I received Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFPM) certification from Functional Medicine University.
I have completed all modules through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and certification-eligible.
I participate in ongoing continuing education through the University of Miami Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), and Psychiatry Redefined to name a few.
Currently, I am pursuing a post-master Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certificate at FSU.
I am a member of the Psychedelic Medicine Association, American Herbalist Guild, American Holistic Nurses Association, American Nurses Association for Nurse Practitioners, Florida Nurses Association, IM4US: Integrative Medicine for the Underserved, Nurse Practitioner Council of Miami-Dade, Florida Food Policy Council, and the Institute for Functional Medicine.
When not with patients, I am busy navigating motherhood with my three daughters, Kaya, Isabella, and Imani; along with my husband, Spurgeon. Connecting with Nature, breath & body are essential to my self-care. Spending time in my garden or by the ocean renews my Spirit and I can’t imagine life without music! Experimenting in the kitchen with food, formulating herbal medicine & natural body products brings me joy, and sweating my you-know-what off lifting weights helps keep stress in check.
I am truly honored that you have chosen to partner with me on your transformational health journey and I look forward to meeting you.
